Meet Your Ghost

Jennifer Banash is a critically acclaimed writer, a former professor of English and creative writing, and has ghostwritten several New York Times bestselling books for major publishers. A widely published author in her own right, she is also the author of five celebrated young adult novels: Silent Alarm, White Lines, Simply Irresistible, In Too Deep, and The Elite (Penguin USA and G.P. Putnam & Sons). Her most recent book, Silent Alarm, was a 2015 finalist for the American Library Association’s Best Work of Young Adult Fiction prize and is being developed for television. She is also the former co-founder and editor of Impetus Press, a small, independent publishing house that championed works of literary fiction with a pop edge. Her most recent novel, The Rise and Fall of Ava Arcana, recently sold to Amazon’s imprint, Lake Union Publishing, in a two-book deal.

With over fifteen years of extensive experience in ghostwriting, editing, and developmental editing, Jennifer exhibits high standards, and her meticulous attention to detail is the trademark of her editing and brainstorming process. She is highly skilled at bringing a book from the “idea” phase of development through to completion. As a distinguished instructor of English and creative writing for over fourteen years, Jennifer takes the hands-on approach to teaching and editing alike, and is proficient in shepherding clients’ projects in all genres of literature, from non-fiction and memoir to self-help and literary novels.

Jennifer has ghostwritten numerous books for celebrity clients and titans of the business industry but has a special fondness for all genres of fiction, as well as memoir. Her strong work ethic and collaborative spirit are just a few of the reasons her services are routinely sought out by major publishers and private clients alike.

Services

Line Editing

You already have a draft of your book, and you're feeling pretty good about it. But before you query that agent, you want an extra set of eyes on it, just to make sure it's all tight. That's what you'll get with a line edit: a thorough markup of your completed draft.

Developmental Editing

You have an idea, but you aren't quite sure how to turn it into a book — but you want to try, and just need some assistance to make it all work. That's what you'll get with a developmental edit: I'll help you get from idea to a completed draft, chapter by chapter. You'll be doing the writing, but I'll be helping you at every step along the way.

Ghostwriting

You have an idea, and you want to see it as a book — but you want someone else to do the heavy lifting. That's what you'll get with ghostwriting: We'll talk over your concept, plot it out, and I'll write it, from the first line to the last.
